PRAISES IN DIFFICULT TIMES
,Praise God!
Blessings, honor, and adoration be unto the God of heaven, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the seas, and everything in them. We thank the Lord for another opportunity to share His Word. It is my prayer that this blog ministers to someone in need of transformation and encouragement. We encourage you to like, comment, and share with your friends and family. Someone is about to be blessed.
Praise and worship are powerful expressions of our trust in God. Praising God in difficult times is proof that we truly know the God we serve. The Bible tells us that God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3). We honor Him when we choose to look beyond our present challenges and continue to praise Him despite the storms around us.
There are seasons when it may seem as though the whole world is against you. Such moments are not the time to run from place to place seeking human help. The Scriptures remind us that there is no lasting help in man; our help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth (Psalm 121:1-2).
Difficult moments are a part of life. Many times, they come as tests of our faith and love for God. Just as there can be no promotion without an examination, spiritual growth often requires testing. During an examination, both the examiner and the student remain silent. In the same way, God watches to see whether we will remain faithful even in adversity. He allows certain trials to reveal our level of maturity because divine responsibilities are entrusted to mature believers. Praising God in difficult times is one of the greatest proofs of spiritual maturity.
The children of Israel repeatedly complained and grumbled whenever challenges arose. As a result, many of them never entered the Promised Land. Perhaps you are currently facing financial hardship, house rent challenges, hunger, stagnation, barrenness, disappointment, or failure in some area of life. Whatever the situation may be, never allow complaints to fill your heart. Instead, choose praise. When praise rises from our hearts, mountains become level ground before the power of God.
Let me share a personal testimony.
Some time ago, I faced a serious challenge at work. Certain clients accused me of being responsible for a problem that I knew absolutely nothing about. The situation escalated to the point where my boss was insulted, several meetings were held, and it was concluded that I should be dismissed immediately.
That Tuesday evening, I returned home convinced that it was my last day on the job. I informed my wife of the situation and prepared myself for the worst. Suddenly, I felt strongly impressed by the Holy Spirit to attend the Tuesday Bible Study service. Although I arrived late, I still went to church. After the service, I offered a simple prayer to God.
When I got home, my wife and I began to praise God wholeheartedly. We danced before the Lord with joy as though we had already received a promotion. We refused to allow fear and anxiety to control us.
The following day, I went to work expecting to receive a dismissal letter. To my surprise, nothing happened. Later, a senior colleague contacted me and said he wanted to investigate the matter personally. After his investigation, it became clear that I had no involvement whatsoever in the issue. He looked at me and said, "You serve a living God."
Today, more than six months later, I am still in that job. God did not allow the plans of the enemy to prevail against me.
Beloved, God honors those who praise Him. As I said earlier, praise is proof of trust. When you praise God in the midst of trials, you are declaring that your confidence is not in circumstances but in the God who controls all circumstances.
Whatever challenge you may be facing today, choose praise over complaints, worship over worry, and faith over fear. The God who delivered me is able to deliver you also.
Prayer:
Father, give me the grace to praise You at all times, even in difficult seasons. Let my trust in You remain steadfast, and may my praise open doors of victory, favor, and breakthrough in Jesus' name. Amen.
Key Scripture:
"I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth." — Psalm 34:1
