When answers Seem Delayed

  "So that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises." — Hebrews 6:12 A prayer offered in faith has the power to bring God into every situation. Yet there are times when we pray and it seems as though God is silent. At such moments, we must remember that God's plans cannot be fully understood by human reasoning. The Bible says that His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8–9). Never try to put God in a box. Hebrews 6:12 teaches us that we inherit God's promises through faith and patience. God hears every sincere prayer, but faith must be accompanied by patience. His promises for our lives are glorious—read Isaiah 43–61 and see the wonderful things He has prepared for His people. However, if we have faith without patience, we may begin to question God's faithfulness or even become tempted to seek ungodly alternatives. Many people say, "God is too slow....
