THE BLESSED MAN

By Evang. Taiye Ajayi

I'd like to begin today's blog with a simple but important question: Who is a blessed man?

The Bible gives us many descriptions of a blessed man. One of the clearest is found in Psalm 1:1-3:

"Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord... He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water..."

Yesterday, we looked at who a cursed man is. Today, I encourage you to pay close attention to what God wants to teach you about the life of a truly blessed man.

The Bible says, "The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and He adds no sorrow with it" (Proverbs 10:22). God's blessings rest upon those who trust Him completely.

Abraham trusted God, and the Lord blessed him abundantly—with silver, gold, livestock, and great possessions. Yet his greatest blessing was not his wealth but his relationship with God.

One of the signs of a person who is genuinely blessed by God is the fragrance of peace that surrounds them. When you come close to such a person, you sense the presence of God at work in their life.

There are many visible expressions of God's blessings—financial provision, good health, children, long life, favor, and success. However, the greatest blessing is spiritual blessing. It is the ability to hear God's voice, recognize His instructions, and receive the grace to obey Him.

The Bible says:

"If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land." (Isaiah 1:19)

Spiritual blessings surpass every other blessing because your work for God is determined by your walk with God.

Some months ago, while taking one of my regular prayer walks—which is one of the ways God often speaks to me—the Lord said, "Son, there are three lions walking with you."

I smiled because I have learned that God never lies.

A few moments later, He said, "Look over there where those boys are playing football."

I looked and saw many teenagers playing on a football field.

Then He instructed me, "Go over there."

Without hesitation, I obeyed.

As soon as I stepped onto the field, every single boy ran away. Within less than a minute, they had all jumped over the fence, leaving me standing alone.

Experiences like this remind me that the greatest blessing is not material wealth but living a life that is led by the Spirit of God.

Many people believe God's blessings are measured only by money. That is not true. A thief who steals money may appear wealthy, but that does not mean he is blessed.

The Bible encourages us to glory in knowing God. True blessings flow from His presence.

I am currently writing a book titled "THIS!!! MONEY CANNOT BUY." In it, I will explain this truth in greater detail.

To become a blessed man, you must be committed to obeying God's Word and following His instructions.

Joshua 1:8 says:

"This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth... then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success."

Notice that good success comes after meditation, obedience, and faithful living.

The blessings of God are complete. They touch every area of life, and they grow as you continue walking with Him.

Do not come to God merely because you want riches. Do not receive Jesus simply because you expect money to begin flowing into your life. Sadly, this mindset has quietly entered parts of the Body of Christ.

Come to Jesus because He is Lord.

Yes, God may bless you financially—even early in your walk with Him—to reveal His faithfulness. But a truly blessed person continues to walk with God even when God removes certain comforts in order to build character, strengthen faith, and produce spiritual maturity.

The Bible says that the Lord disciplines those He loves. Sometimes, God's blessings are accompanied by seasons of testing—not to destroy us, but to refine us.

Every test prepares you for a testimony.

Every man or woman whom God has greatly blessed first allowed God to shape, refine, and prepare them.

Never forget this: Every truly blessed person is blessed because God made them so.

Prayer

Father, thank You for the blessing that comes from knowing You. Help us to seek Your presence above earthly possessions. Give us hearts that are willing to obey Your voice and remain faithful through every season. Let our lives reflect the beauty of Your blessings, both spiritually and physically. May we walk with You daily and enjoy the fullness of Your promises. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Shalom.
