A Surrendered Heart

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5

The greatness of a man whom God desires to use to showcase His glory begins with a surrendered heart. To surrender means to die to your own will, submit your plans to God, and become committed to doing His will. Where He leads, you go; what He commands, you obey.

There was once a man who prayed for God to use him mightily. He had great plans, intelligence, and many ideas, but he always wanted things done his own way. One day, God instructed him to leave everything familiar and follow a path he did not understand. He struggled because the instruction did not make sense to him. Eventually, he surrendered and obeyed. That step of obedience became the beginning of a new season of divine purpose.

Jesus demonstrated the perfect surrendered heart. He said He came to do the will of the Father and finish His work. His life was not governed by personal convenience but by obedience.

A surrendered heart attracts God’s presence, direction, and blessings. Therefore, surrender your heart, mind, strength, plans, and future to the Lord Jesus.

Lord Jesus, give us surrendered hearts, and make us true sons and daughters of the living God. Amen.
