In Christ I Am a Winner

 

“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” — 1 Corinthians 15:57

The battles of life are common to all men. Nobody walks through this world without facing challenges, disappointments, delays, opposition, or moments when the weight of life seems too heavy to carry.

But there is a great difference between facing a battle with Christ and facing it without Him.

The Bible says, “But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Notice the words “thanks be to God.” Paul did not say, “Thanks be to God because there are no battles.” He gave thanks because, even in the presence of battles, victory had already been secured through Christ.

The Story of the Farmer

There was once a farmer who planted a seed and waited patiently for the harvest. After several weeks, he noticed that nothing seemed to be happening. The ground looked exactly the same.

One morning, a friend came to him and said, “Your farm is a failure. Nothing is growing.”

The farmer smiled and replied, “You only see the ground. I see what I planted beneath it.”

Days passed. The rain came. The wind blew. The farmer continued to water and protect his field. Eventually, something began to break through the soil. What looked like nothing was actually becoming something.

At harvest time, the farmer gathered an abundant crop.

Sometimes life is like that farm.

You may be looking at your situation and thinking, “Nothing is happening.” You may pray and see no immediate answer. You may face a difficult season and wonder why God has allowed it.

But heaven may be working beneath the surface.

Do not judge God's work by what you can see today.

There are seasons when God is watching your response to the storm. Will you trust Him or will you abandon your faith? Will you give thanks or will you complain? Will you depend on God or put all your confidence in men?

Every challenge can reveal where your trust truly lies.

The Battle Is Not the End

Many times, when problems come, our first instinct is to tell everyone. We pick up our phones and call one person after another.

But sometimes, the people we are calling are also fighting battles of their own.

There is nothing wrong with seeking godly counsel, but there must be a place where you learn to take your burdens to God first.

The Bible says:

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7

When you cannot explain what is happening, trust God.

When you cannot see the way forward, trust God.

When the answer seems delayed, trust God.

When everything around you says, “Give up,” remember that Christ has already won the ultimate victory.

Jesus defeated sin, death, and the power of darkness through His death and resurrection. Therefore, the believer does not fight for victory as though victory has never been won. We fight from the position of victory that Christ has already secured.

The Problem Has an Expiry Date

One thing I have learned is that problems do not stay forever.

There is a season for everything.

The storm has a season.
The tears have a season.
The waiting has a season.
The testing has a season.

But God remains God through every season.

The Scripture says:
